Old Fred is about to make his last trip over the road. He has had a string of bad luck in the last month or so.  He has hit 2 cars and one loaded gasoline 18 wheeler. He guested he has some luck though. He hit the cab on the 18 wheeler at a slow speed and no gasoline was spilled and all 3 drivers were not killed.

Fred's wife and Fred's supervisor's wife have been friends for many years. So Tom, Fred's supervisor got the "word" from home to make sure Fred's last trip would be as safe as possible. Tom's decided it was time for the yard engine and slug to go in for rebuilding. And what better person to run it to the shop than his old friend Fred. Tom lined up for the #1326 and slug to be in the lead for the trip and line up the RR police to be at the road crossing that the most of the gasoline truck crossing the main line go to refill.

Fred told Tom that was real nice of him to let him run old #1326, it was one of the first engines he run when became an engineer. (Fred did not know about the "word" Tom got from home.)
