I see the latest Lionel shipping schedule still does NOT address the GP30s in the 2014 volume 2 catalog.
Now have I missed any announcement to cancel these???????????
Has anyone heard and/or seen anything on these?

So,,,,does that mean that there will be no high short hood GP30 models?

...Care to elaborate? Are you saying the schedule doesn't list the GP30's anymore? If so, that could be an indication they have shipped. For as long as I can remember, Lionel has had this bass-ackwards approach to removing items from the schedule when the items ship to dealers. Of course, the problem introduced with that approach is: we only know if something ships when it's no longer listed. So that's like looking for something that's not there anymore. But then what do they do to indicate when a product has been cancelled? They can't "just remove it", because that could imply it's also been shipped!!!
Best to ignore the whole darn useless piece of $#!& altogether and check with your dealer. Charlie Ro's website seems to have reasonably good ETA's for product delivery -- at least as good as I've found in the marketplace for short-term planning. Also worth keeping an eye on the forum here, as Nassau Hobbies also tends to post the list of Lionel products they expect to receive a week or two out when Lionel ships product to dealers. Both sources provide much better information than Lionel seems capable of providing to their end-consumers, i.e. us toy train enthusiasts.

The key word of my OP is "still." I have been checking the schedule for weeks/months and there has been no new GP30 schedule(s) posted.
And if they have been made and shipped my local toy train shop has not received my order.

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood your post. So what you're saying is the GP30 never made it onto the schedule to begin with? Not sure what that means with any degree of certainty.

I had posted about this on Dec 30th, "Lionel GP30s Off Shipping Schedule". I then contacted Lionel on January 13th, and got this reply.
Thank you. This was a built to order item, meaning that only engines that were preordered by Oct. 22nd 2014, were being produced. At this time, I do not have an estimated ship date on when these pre-orders will go out. If you did a pre-order, I would suggest checking with the dealer with whom you placed the order with.
Could some of these items be aboard the container ships sitting somewhere off the west coast for weeks and weeks...??
If you go to Charles Ro's website and enter a number for a GP30 they show an expected availability date of 3/10/15. This date has not changed since Ro first put them on the website.

Very Interesting!
But was not the BTO VL Big Boy tracked on the shipping schedule. At least that is what I seem to recall.
To confirm this apparent "new" practice I punched in another six item numbers of other BTO products from the 2014 volume 2 catalog. None of these popped up on the shipping schedule either. So I guess Lionel is not going to keep us informed as to when these BTO items, that we have ordered might be actually shipped. Don't understand this approach.

Based on Steve's reply from Lionel, I just called my very local toy train shop where I have these on order. While we were on the line together he called his distributor. The distributor stated he had "No Clue", Lionel has told them nothing.
So what a way to run a business.
