If possible, is there any interest in a new forum under misc.  dedicated for forum member layout blogs.

It seems allot of members like to document and show their progress on their layout ( me included), but there is not a consistent place where these can be found.  I am sure there are many more out there that i am not currently following because of no practical way to locate them.

Seldom a day goes by without a post to "what did you do on your layout today" Posting a blog link within a current post to it? Others add links to their layouts sites in their personal quote sections. You could save those links to a new favorites folder of your own as you browse the forum, or "members" info. Maybe a sticky to see where it all goes but devoting a section to already findable info is unlikely unless hoopla issues an easy option Rich and the gang want to play with.

It seems to me that the life-span of a "layout progress" thread is rather short.  After the initial pics of the (1) room (2) benchwork (3) track work, wiring, (4) scenery and subsequent commentary for each, it's difficult to find once again unless you have somehow tagged it on your device.

These are good references for anyone contemplating a new or revising a current layout.  There ought to be a way.....................

It would be great to have a specific forum with one layout per thread. It is helpful when a member continues on the same thread instead instead of starting a new one for some small improvement.  I have enjoyed the way you have done it Mike.  But I know you, and I know Alex Mueller (another great thread).  But it would be better to find these in one section and hope that each member would follow your style format of one continuous thread.

I think it's a great idea. There have been several build threads that were started and now complete that I have read all the way through. Some of the on going ones I have also tried to follow, but as others have said they are hard to keep track of. Many I have found only because the original poster has a link in their tag line.

There is a lot of information in these that anyone could benefit from. I have learned a lot from them and 'borrowed' (or would that be stolen?) many of the builders techniques. As tplee mentioned, Alex's was one of them, he had some great tips for using Atlas track which is what I have.
