LC Board Pinout & Wiring Diagram

You're right, it would be easier.   Where Bruk when you need him, we need his kind of documentation like he did for Legacy.

When I converted my LC+ Rectifier to battery power (posted 2/15) , I had to do some decoder board pin sleuthing. I think I figured it out, but don't feel it is accurate enough to advise other forum members. Hopefully, Lionel can help out here.

Gee Bob, why not let us be the judge of the accuracy?  Some information is better than no information.

I have the pin out on my work computer. Lionel sent me the pin out to do exactly what you want to do. However, once I opened it up and looked at the underside of the bd. , it was clearly marked RL for rear light. I can email it to you tomorrow if you like.  It was sent in the body of the email. If I can snip it, I’ll post it here as well. I ran a tether back to the tender and it works great. Only problem is I only had a blue LED which I stuck in there and have been to lazy to replace it now that I have a replacement! Lionel has come through for me for many little things like this. If I can get them to reply to my request to send my Vision Niagara in for service though!

I've only disassembled the tender so far to take a look inside. It looks like the main board is here and not in the engine. I could clearly make out the bluetooth module. A keyed 6 pin tether already makes it way to the engine from the tender.  I'd assume that the pins are:

1: Hot - center rail
2: Neutral - Outside rail
3: Motor +
4: Motor -
5: Smoke Resistor control +
6: Smoke Resistor control -

I haven't pulled the engine apart as that wasn't something I felt that needed to be opened for this project.

Any information you can provide would certainly be helpful.

Some models have pictures diagrams on the parts board.  I would look for the silk screen too.

Here is the pin-out for the lighting connector. I'm wondering why all the boards for my locomotive are in the engine and yours are in the tender? Did I understand you correctly? I have the LC+ NYC 0-4-0 w/ Bluetooth. My tender has a speaker and leads to the coupler and power pick ups. It's empty otherwise!

I'll get some pictures of it posted this evening, but yeah, the main board is in the tender.

FYI: This engine is not a "PLUS" just regular LC with Bluetooth.

The 0-4-0 probably explains why the board is in the tender.   Pretty small in the locomotive and you do have the fan driven smoke and the motor in there.

I'm pretty sure the one I received is a puffer. It still puffs a few more times after the smoke has been turned off.

Yep, only the LC+ have the fan driven smoke.
