Does anyone have the LCCA Burlington 1958 re-issue of post war set 1600 ? I came across this set that was put out to members in 2010. It is factory sealed with a price of $350.00.  I read it has TMCC which I'm not fond of being a postwar re-issue. But  how is this set quality wise?  Or should I steer from buying

Pros: The paint and markings on the remake are nicer than the original. Both trucks on each passenger car have pickup rollers, compared with the postwar set which had only one roller on each car. You'll have a nice horn/bell on the remake, compared with having no sounds on the postwar original. The remake has both magne-traction and rubber tires, which is an advantage for operators with non-ferrous track. Each car is individually packaged in postwar style boxes and Lionel wrapping paper. Will work with conventional and TMCC.

Cons: The passenger car tooling is modern era with closed vestibule ends versus open vestibules on the postwar cars. The underframe of the remake passenger cars is not metal like the original. The wiring on the remake cars is very thin gauge and prone to burning up and melting into a blob on derailment if a short occurs. The interior wiring is held in place with Scotch tape. The bulbs are smaller wedge bulbs vs. larger bayonet bulbs on the original. The motor is a front wheel drive pullmor integral with the truck. The original is rear truck driven. There are plastic spur and pinion gears vs. metal on the original. Some motors have experienced rough "coffee grinder" like operation just like the conventional classics "orbiter" set's Alco locomotive, but that can be fixed with some patience. The front drive truck has a lot of lateral play because the truck side frame tooling  on the remake accidentally omitted the spacers to keep the truck centered on the metal frame and prevent it from sliding around.
