LCCA Has Another Successful Special Event In California (Recap) .
The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) was out west in California again for a two day train show and expo at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara CA on March 9 & 10, 2013. On Saturday March 9 at 12:00 LCCA Immediate Past President and Special Events Manager Al Kolis conducted a clinic introducing the new LCCA/Lionel FasTrack Modular Railroad system. LCCA Member John Rinaldi assisted with the presentation and demonstrated with an actual un-assembled Lionel/LCCA Modular Railroad system kit. Thank you to all of the members and guests who came to this presentation and learned more about this new O-Gauge FasTrack Modular system.
This TCA/TTOS two day train show was open to the public. Thank you to Bob Burke (RM 10433) and the TCA Nor-Cal Division (and all of the members) for inviting the LCCA and giving us the opportunity to introduce this new national modular layout standard and be part of this two day train show.
Thank you to all of the LCCA members, Nor-Cal members and guests who stopped by the LCCA table during this two day train show. It was great to meet long-time member, Ralf Parton (RM 122) of Walnut Creek CA. Ralf joined the club back in 1971 just after the club was founded by Charter Member #1 Jim Gates and 82 other Charter members in 1970.
Special thanks to LCCA members John Rinaldi (RM 21735) and Russell Hora (RM 30832)for helping out to make this Special Event possible. We could have not done this event with-out your assistance and contributions. John, thanks for representing the club at the LCCA booth during the show on Sunday.
We are grateful for all of the positive feedback and hospitality we have received in California during the past several weeks. We have been to California for this show, three WGHOT shows and the Special Event train show with the Golden Gate Lionel Railroad club in San Jose CA. Based upon the input I have received from our California and western state members, I believe we will have several LCCA Special Events out west in the future.
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at future LCCA Special Events. If you have any ideas about hosting future family, friendly, train related activities and LCCA Special Events in your area, please contact me at 248 709-4137 or via e-mail at agkolis@comcast.net to discuss. Thank you again.
Best regards
Al Kolis
