LCCA Honors Lou Caponi at OGR 10-18-13 Grandstand Meeting

At the conclusion of the 10-18-13 OGR Forum Grandstand meeting in York, PA, the Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) and OGR honored the late Lou Caponi and presented to Rose, his wife of almost 38 years, and their adult son Dominic, a plaque and hand-blown glass artwork to honor Lou’s contributions for the betterment of the club  and for his many years of service.  Lou Caponi, while serving his term as LCCA Club President,  passed away on July 31, 2013 from complications of diabetes.  President DeVito bestowed the honorary title of President Infiniti to Lou. Ed Boyle of OGR (also a LCCA member) presided over this event. Lionel’s Senior VP and General Manager Howard Hitchcock spoke of Lou’s positive impact on Lionel and the hobby.  MTH VP of Marketing, Andy Edelman, and Ed Boyle shared humorous anecdotes about Lou. Instead of a moment of silence, per Ed Boyle invitation, the crowd enthusiastically whistled, stomped, and cheered in celebration of his life.

Mario,

Lou was a great father, husband and friend.  We miss him and wanted to honor him in an appropriate way.   As Lou would say, he was "my brother from another mother"   The hobby will never be the same.   We miss you Louie!  God Bless!
