Lou,

Just my opinion - we always have room for a new engine or car since the track is already there.  Accessories are a different story - I would have difficulty finding a spot for any of the new items unless I remove an existing structure.  I don't know what the minimum number is for manufacturing each item, but that's the number I would go with.  Also spread them out over several years.  Tinplate sets similar to the old Marx might be a unique item for LCCA, especially if you could get a price point around 200 - 250 dollars.  Lithograph would be the key selling point - if that's even possible anymore in this day and age.

I would be in for the Texas Special.  As Swanko just mentioned, accessories are a different story.  I don't currently have a layout and I'm running out of room to store the "stuff".  You can always put an engine or a set somewhere, accessories are another story.  They tend to ship in bulky boxes which are hard to store.  An engine can always be run on a carpet layout should the urge hit you.

Thanks for all of your hard work in developing these items.  Nothing is ever as easy as it looks to those not involved in the process.

I agree with you.  A lot of the demand is also based on the footprint of the accessory.  Some of the stuff that MTH released such as the firehouse and car wash take up a fair amount of real estate.  I think that in limited quantities, these items that you are considering will sell.  The question becomes how much do you have to produce to see daylight on these projects?

Lou, I would like to see some more animated accessories, especially Carnival Rides!!!!!!!!Lionels are good, but I would like more of scale look to them, kind of like Ed Jones use to do. I know they are still made, but there is a long waiting list and the prices are steep.

I would also like to see more "rare" postwar sets reissued. How about some of the old uncatalogued promotional sets Lionel did? I have an 800 page book on all of them!!! :-)

I just paid double on eBay for the Texas Special Milk car that you are out of. When I saw the new tinplate set I joined LCCA this past weekend and ordered mine. I think the milk car, the tinplate set, and some of the other Texas stuff is classy. I wouldn't be interested in glow in the dark items or helicopter cars and missle launchers.

IMO I think there is a rising interest in milk, express trains, and head end cars. Would be nice to make up a 8 or 9 car train over a few years - a mix of milk, baggage, and mail cars. I think you have the milk cars handled already BTW.
