LCCA Receives Donation for Support of Children's Program
The Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) recently received an unsolicited donation of $1,000 from a Charitable Trust based in Georgia to support club-sponsored Special Events focused on kids.
LCCA is pleased to accept this donation in recognition of our efforts that brighten the day of youngsters, some of whom are coping with a life-threatening illness.
Our LCCA Junior Membership program continues to expand, and it brings the hobby to today’s generation of kids and their parents. The LCCA reaches out to charitable organizations that touch the lives of children by:
-Collaborating with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, recognizing a youngster as an Honorary Engineer, and providing the child with a Lionel Train Set
-Providing frequent programs for autistic children (including Autism Speaks)
-Gifting the proceeds from our annual Convention Train Show to a local charity
-Presenting fund-raisers that benefit Children’s Hospitals and Ronald McDonald House.
The LCCA will continue these worthwhile efforts and will expand this activity in the future as targets of opportunity arise and funds become available.
