LCCA Texas Special Train Set

I really must be meant to have this set, 'cause this is the SECOND time now I just happen to see these threads within seconds of them being posted!!!

you know if you put this set with the LCCA texas special milk car it will even look cooler. did you notice what the tank car says on it. Lionel locomotive oil.

I did notice a Lionel image on the picture above, but didn't know what it said.  Well, The Lionel Roars issue just arrived here and I was able to see that it says Lionel Locomotive Oil.  I like that...nice touch.

I am a bit confused - maybe I missed something in a previous thread.  On the LCCA site, I see the engine and calf and mint car for $500.00.  Is the helicopter car, tank car and caboose separate sale?

They will be a separate sale item and will be announced in the October issue of The Lion Roars.

Conventional only, no TMCC?

That's what Lou had indicated in an earlier thread.  He also mentioned that it was gonna be equipped with an "upgraded" RailSounds package.  But we never quite got a definitive answer as to what Will be needed to install a TMCC upgrade kit of some kind.  Back when Lionel offered "command-ready" locos, we'd need to install a TMCC board plus a RaiSounds board in those locomotives.  But with this loco already equipped with RailSounds, it somewhat begs the question how much (or how little) really needs to be done to make this a TMMC locomotive after it's delivered.
