No. Lionel only guarantees they will work at the length provided. Some folks have planned on making their own but again Lionel only supports their cable length. Any other is at your own discretion.
Do what I did, I just bought a couple more IRV2 boxes to service the tracks. Since each IRV2 also comes with two sensor sleds, you should have plenty of them to automate your RR.
