Question.. can you power a legacy 990 command system using a Railking z1000 transformer? I have a legacy GP-7 locomotive that I would be controlling if this is possible. The Lionel transformer that I was using died, so I only have the Railking z1000

Sure. Volts are volts and amps are amps. It's 100W @18V so you've got in the neighborhood of 5.6A.

Do a quick search for eBay item number: 114600205281. This will allow you to plug in your Z1000 brick and connect the feeders to your FasTrack. You'll want one feeder for about every 6 track joints. It will also give you a convenient place to connect the signal wire from your Legacy base.
