All of a sudden, this engine no longer responds to a Cab2 (legacy) remote on start up.  As soon as track power is applied, the engine sounds come on.  The whistle won't sound from the remote and the engine won't move conventionally.  Here is the odd part; if I let the engine idle for a few minutes, shut the track power off, then re-apply track the power, the engine will be silent and ready to start in legacy mode.  Almost seems as if capacitors need to charge first as in a PS3 engine.  I have 3 independent loops, no switches.  I use Legacy and DCS and power with a Z4K.  No other legacy engines do this.  Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Rich

Things I would look at are the radio board like John stated.  These guys have 4 legs on one side and three on the other.  The legs of these boards break at the base of the receiver board and sometimes make contact and sometimes do not.  John is correct on the board.  Next the handrails would be suspect.  When sound comes up on power up, hit the handrail and ground looking for continuity.  If you find continuity, repair the issue.
