Legacy Big Boy. Where does this go?

Like I said the picture of the screw is on the Lionel website . It shows the screw item # 92.

 It's for a Legacy Big Boy Item 6-11104.

Look at gearbox number 87 then look at spring number 91.  Looks like that screw and spring might hold the hearbox bracket in place.  I wish I saw your post earlier as I had to check out a Big Boy for Charlie that is headed across the pond.

Thanks Marty for pointing me in the right direction. In between the collectors( on the rear drivers only) is a hole that will fit the screw and spring. I don't think it is holding anything. I thought it might be a lube hole but you can stick a small screwdriver in and it goes clear threw. The hole is not shown in the owners manual. Can anybody who has this model confirm the placement of this screw?

Looking at pictures on auction websites I see no screw between the collectors. I'm still at a lost to where this came from.

My unit is at the club, I will look to see if I can find something that looks like that as well as advise if I see the whole your referring too.

BTW - did you call Lionel's Tech Support Team - They will answer questions on the BB. That screw looks like it would fit near the rear trucks of the engine or the tender.

It is also quite possible it was a QA miss. Meaning that it got boxed up in error.

Guys, 

Chris Lord, replaced the front coupler on the BB. Look for his post as he has pictures of the process. Their are 3 or 4 screws that hold the pilot in place. Check that too.

I will look at my engine in the morning and see what I can come up with.
