I noticed that the Blue Comet was carried over for another catalogue while the similar Southern Crescent was not. This 2nd run of the Blue Comet was given a different product number. Does anyone know whether there are any differences between the original 6-11335 and later 6-11423? (As of today there is no parts diagram for 6-11423 on the Lionel web site.) Thanks!!

One is Cab # 833 and the other is 832. And hopefully it will have a more correct whistle when shipped than the other. The first run sounded like a horn vs a whistle and required a trip to Lionel to correct it.
They're almost exactly the same. The only thing different is the more correct whistle sound effect on the later 11423 engine. Otherwise, they are pretty much identical.
