Legacy control not switching to speed control FIXED | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi everyone! Just bought a new engine for the first time in at least five years. I bought the new Lionel Switcher SW8. Model number 2433700. When I hit the speed control button nothing happens. Since I know what the buttons do ... I can hit the correct numbers and the engine will respond ..ie volumn ... speed etc. But my other engines on the layout do work on the controller when I hit the speed control button ... I have a Christmas layout and my permanent layout and have two separate controllers for each ... and it does the same thing on each independent layout. I've tried resetting and nothing... is this the new normal for switchers etc or should it work just like my 5 - 8 year Legacy engines? Thanks! Rob

Did you set the engine type in the INFO menu to Legacy?

That was it! It was set to Cab1 instead. Thank you very much! I don't remember having to do that before?
