So I was running my H10 and I was running my it on roll but on some parts of my layout the engine shuts off. The odd part is that the engine sounds are on along with the class lights on the tender. However I shut the engine down and reposed it but the engine sounds turn on but the engine doesn’t. Ev en stranger is the bell and whistle respond from the CW80. This only happens when the smoke unit is on I’m not sure if it’s the track or the engine.

Ok thanks! Should I also clean the pick up rollers too?

Yes, clean the rollers, ground wheels, and track.

Be mindful of the power of a CW80; I ran 2 locomotives (H10 and VL Niagara) on 2 different tracks with smoke units all off and had no problems; I connected 1 track to the main terminals, the other to the accessory terminals; I could also run one smoke unit on per track OK; however, the smoke unit in the Niagara tender would not produce smoke.  Later I connected a ZWL and ran all smoke units at the same time OK.
