I have 2 Lionel Legacy engines that always start up in reverse. Is there a way to reset this so they stsrt in forward?

This happened to me too with some of the legacy steam engines. I was wondering if it is to do with the initial programming of the module and which direction the loco is placed on the tracks, but that does not make any sense to me!!
I have not worked on any Legacy engines but ill bet you can just reverse the wires on the dc motors and then they will start in the right direction forward will be forward!

Set the TMCC ID, it is likely the loco was part of a train and is set to reverse in the train config. This train config translates to the ENG config during operation. Setting the TMCC Id clears the configuration to factory defaults.

to do what jon said above punch in the engine number and press "set", next time you run your engine.
Jon has it right of course...saw that just the other evening of an engine.
It's was in a lash delete the engine re add it..
