Legacy NS SD40-2 Problem

My Legacy NS SD40-2 has developed an intermittent problem. When running the cab lights will start flashing and after a minute or so they will stay on continuously. When I slow it down I don't get any brake sounds and the smoke unit is On or Off, no low, med or high output control. All other functions work. I have reset using the CAB 2, reprogrammed it according to the manual (aux1, 2) and reseated the R4LC board. No change in symptoms. It seems to me the R4LC is failing. Looking for confirmation/comments or something I'm overlooking before I buy a new one. Thanks , Jim London
