For any one still looking for the Legacy 10th Anniversary Polar Express, I was just on the Charles Ro website and they currently have item L14451 listed as "In Stock" for 1049.95!
Happy New Year!

I saw that too the other day. That's one of the things I tip my hat to Charlie for... he often sells items months later for the same price that he publishes in his price lists when the items are first catalog'd. A few exceptions here and there (i.e., one or two of the recent BTO items), but for the most part he keeps prices steady until selling through all the inventory. At one point, I had heard all of his P/E Berk's were spoken for... but perhaps some folks backed out and he now has a few available. Given where Lionel is going with its prices, $1050 is a decent price for a P/E scale Berk. Similar Lionel steam locomotives from more recent catalogs are now $200-$300 more.
will it run on 031 curves?
Think 054 is minimum for 11451. I'm running it on 060 and that seems kind of tight, wouldn't want to go much tighter.
Mine showed up just before Thanksgiving, no bearing issues, tightened slightly loose ground wire by front truck and realigned/straightened pickup roller assy, which was at a slight angle (probably more aesthetic than anything else).
Other than that, it's been running practically non-stop the whole holiday season and has made this year pretty special.

No.
I take it that Charles Ro was able to fullfill those preorder scale Polar Express locos to those buyers who ordered one last Christmas but never recevived one due to a short shipment from Lionel. Just curious if those who finally received their 2014 preorder received anything in addition from Lionel or Ro due to their patience as was intimated by Ro.

I received my loco with out any extra goodies? You would think after the year-long wait they would give even a small valued gift certificate or something. This was my first purchase from CR and with all honesty even my second did not go very well. I made another purchase and "All" the items I had ordered were to show up before Christmas. Two out of the three did and they omitted the third without any prior notification. So I was short one gift for my wife, she really wanted the Thomas kinkade covered bridge to go with her new Kinkade passenger train that was on display under the tree this year. Thank goodness for Kays', she over looked the bridge!
Oh by the way I checked again and CR no longer has it listed online, so someone must mave snagged it!
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Ryan
I bought one last week from Charles Ro but found it's just too big for my railroad. I'm running lion chief engines and one legacy f3 diesel. It's just too big compare to my other engines. I hate to sell it, but I have no other choice. If I do, will only sell what I paid for it. It is new and never had it on the track.

Thats the exact same price I paid for mine back in 08 AFTER the "mail in rebate" offered at that time. No whistle steam on that one either.
I can't remember what the preorder price was on these lateset ones but maybe the current $1049 price is compensation for the delay. Really, a year wait isn't all that bad anyway.
I'm not sure why its Ros fault that Lionel couldn't produce enough locomotives to supply them? I guess it depends on how you look at it.
While its great that Lionel made sure their smaller dealers got their orders, the largest dealer kinda got screwed.
Ros prices and service are as good or better than anyones, especially given the volume of product they move.
I heard at one time CR did not have the order in on time, then I heard they were short shipped, I am just glad every one worked together to fulfill the orders! I even seen on another post, the new 115 Year Berk was released to fulfill the remaining needed orders to complete the rerun of the PE misshap? Ether way a Win Win for everyone, all my heavyweights would have looked strange to me without the correct engine and I must say I am glad I held out for the 10th Aniversary Legacy PE the whistle steam was worth the delay!
