My remote when it is turned on begins sending commands. All of my boxes, asc's, bpc's, etc. begin flashing indicating that they are receiving commands. The remote which is a Legacy Remote, shows the speed graph increasing to the maximum and an icon shows in the upper-right of the display. The icon is two circular arrows. I have never seen this icon before. I have removed the batteries hoping to reset the remote but no joy. What is going on? Is there anything that I should do to correct this situation?

Try rocking the Boost / Brake control. If that doesn't work try a little canned air and blow it out if possible. If all else fails it maybe time for a trip to Lionel. What you are describing is the Boost / Brake rocker is engaged in boost mode. Rocking it might clean it up a bit or canned air blow out a contaminant. You could try a little contact cleaner but use it sparingly and make sure its safe for plastics.
try removing and reinstalling the batteries.

Always a good first step, he said he has done that.

OK, you guys are amazing! I just went down to my man cave to try Marty's suggestion. I turned on the power to the layout and then powered up the remote and Shazam, it worked as expected! How did you guys fix my remote without being in my basement? This had been going on for weeks. Thank you for the help. I appreciate all the responses.
