Legacy Station has just published a "How-To" video on installing Electric Railroad (ERR) components. I haven't watched it yet (work wouldn't approve!) but I will sometime in the near future.
In my opinion, it's really not worth installing a DC Commander, when you can install a Cruise Commander. The folks who worry about the extra cost are not thinking about the operating pleasure delta to be gained with cruise control.
It's my opinion. You don't have to agree with it. I suspect that many of the DC Commander customers are not familiar with Cruise Control.
I occasionally use the AC commander for obvious reasons, but for a DC locomotive, it's the Cruise Commander all the way. If you're going to spend the money on the upgrade and sound package, the extra for the Cruise Commander is not really a killer.
