Legacy to run TMCC Heisler

How to run 6-38027 TMCC Heisser with Legacy: 

1. Do I need only Legacy hook-up to track to operate TMCC, nothing else?

If you are only using the cab-2, you can operate TMCC engines.

2. Heisser runs manually with Legacy off

3. Will Legacy Remote control TMCC smoke or do I need to manually adjust?

When you load your heisler into the cab-2, you chose cab-1, TMCC or Legacy icons on the remote. The 8 and 9 buttons on your cab-1 are the same on the cab-2.

4. How do I determine if there is a 9V battery in the tender? Do Is the battery necessary? Only needed for conventional operation as the sounds will not cut out going from reverse to neutal to forward. In command mode, the battery is not needed.

You can tell if there is a battery already installed by noting that the sounds continue for a short time after the track power is turned off.

The volume control in the toolbox-  toolbox lid won’t open. I’m afraid of breaking it. Any suggestions to open it?

1. I got the Heisler TMMC running with the Legacy remote.

2. Battery is dead or missing, so I need to open up the tender.

3. Can’t open tool box/volume control so I may call Lionel

You might consider the YLB - RailSounds Battery Replacement for the battery, you'll never have to open it up to replace the battery again.
