Hi all!
I am trying to upgrade my legacy system from 1.2 to 1.5 and am encountering a problem. When I attempt to make the CAB module for 1.5, I get an error that states "Communication Error - No response from base. The System Utility shows that the base is connected so I assume the USB-to-serial cable is functional. Is this because I am attempting to bypass version 1.3? Do I have to upgrade to 1.3 first? The passage below is from the Lionel website and led me to believe I could perform this update directly (or at least it DOESN'T say that I CAN'T do it directly). If it is necessary that I must first upgrade to 1.3, is that available as a download (or an email attachment
)?

"Q: I haven’t done the v1.4 upgrade. Can I update to v1.5 from version v1.3 or earlier?
A: Yes. You can perform the upgrade yourself if you are currently running v1.2, 1.3 or 1.4. If you are running v1.1 or earlier, click here for more information."
My son is getting impatient with me on this upgrade

If you find anyone with a 1.3 or later BASE module, you can use that to update the base, then you can download the latest versions and create the black modules to update the BASE and CAB2. If you find the 1.52 modules, you can go directly from 1.2 to 1.52.
