Lenses for class/marker lamps

Check MV Products on a web search, they may have something that you may be able to use, I would measure the classification/marker light diameter using a vernier caliper and try to match up either O or HO scale lens diameter.

Last year,  I had the same situation with my K-Line NYC Mikado-no lenses in the smokebox/boiler class lamp housings and no lenses in the tender marker housings.  After some research,  I discovered that Lionel had the exact parts to fix this.  They had the complete housings with the lenses that were a direct bolt(screw) on replacement.  Here are the lionel part numbers"

610-1255-315  class lamp w/lens(green for boiler)

691-1255-t12   marker lamp w/lens(red for tender)

If I remember the boiler lamps were $6.50 ea. and the tender lamps were $4-$5 ea.

The scale KLine engines came with lenses that could be replaced and there should have been some extras in a spare parts bag that came with the engine. I wonder if someone carries replacement lenses?

Good tips, thanks. I plan to stop at English's on my way to York. They might stock MV products. Good to know the Lionel ones would work too. I will have to check my other K-Line engines to see if any of them have lenses. John, the measure .098" thanks all.

I finally got around to installing some lenses in a K-Line Mikado.

First off I learned that MV hasn't made lenses in over 7 years. English's had none when I stopped last month. I was able to score a few on both the Bay and MB Klein in the size I needed though. I thought I wasn't going to be able to use them at first since they have a reflective coating on the back and I needed transparent lenses but discovered the coating is actually aluminum tape and soaking them in lacquer thinner loosened the adhesive. Here is the result showing one side with the lenses installed and the other side without.

I used canopy glue to hold them in place.

I tried looking up the Lionel part numbers to no avail.  Is there a dash or something I'm missing?  I like the looks of these and I own both cab numbers of the K-line NYC Hudson's.  Thanks for your help.

Leave all the dashes out, the parts are listed with no dashes.

GRJ is correct.  Once on the Lionel website, click on the service box, scroll down and click replacement parts.  On the next screen,  the top box gives you a choice of product name/number or replacement part number.  Click on replacement part number.  Then in the next box down,  type in the part number with no dashes.  I just tried it and both part numbers came up with no problem.  Hope this helps.
