The ones with ditch are from mth. I do not believe lionels version has ditch lights.
My Pennsy E8s are the MTH latest release (2014 Volume 2).

Thanks very nice looking Seaboard E8's.
Being that I am not a seaboard guy. Did these units pull painted cars like the ones you show or were they all silver? What were the dates of the painted vs. Silver cars.

Blue Streak - the cars matched the engines way back when. The engines had matching yellow roofs & silver under carriages & frames. I'm not sure if E-8's actually pulled them or if they were E-6's or E-9's. I just like the color scheme. Something different.

Weaver E8's with tmcc/railsounds, mars light's, correct airhorns, cab interior's. Sold them a few years ago, still waiting for MTH to offer them in 2 rail with the correct road numbers.
Love the big engines some great looking models and layouts, thanks all for posting.
Williams Burlington AB set with the CZ K-Line passenger set looks good and runs forever all day at the weekend train shows, great engines.
A couple of Weaver Engines. The SP is similar to the one at the California Railway museum display. I got the body many years ago and mounted it on the other Williams dummy A chassis that came with the Burlington A-A engine set. (Think the CZ passenger set looks best with a couple of big engines; AB is good enough AA or ABA does not look as good with the passenger set)
The Canadian Pacific engine is a Weaver 2 rail custom painted unit.

Was this paint scheme delivered on the Rock Island E-8's from EMD? Recall Silver on the earlier E units and then the Silver being changed to Aluminum White "aka light gray" on the E7's and 8's.

To me, E units, either scale or real, look TOO LONG. F units look just right!
