Sorta what I thought.

This region had a lot of plants and some that did make products to do with the manufacture of explosive type materials before and during WW II.

used to go thru Gallipolis all the time when my parents were in Kentucky. Where is this locomotive at?

Over towards the east end of town where you leave RT 7 as your going towards the bridges to crossover to Point Pleasant WV. 

I believe its the old B&O mainline and this engine and a passenger car on a trailer are located at the old depot.

Nope.  That's a bona-fied EMD NW3.  It has a steam generator for local passenger service.  GN was the only road to purchase them.  Seven were built.

Army locomotive rusting away. Not sure but one like this worked a Army Center in Oakland California in the early 70's. Don

This one may not count, as I’m not sure if it’s “dead” yet. A little TLC is needed.

Found this little bugger in New Hampshire a few years ago. A former logging RR engine.

It may not be dead but it is hurting.
