Thank you Mike for getting members to share their layout pics, great post. I am a rather new member to the forum and I joined because I wanted to learn more about enhancing my layout. Wow have I been impressed with the knowledge and skill presented here. I quickly became a member of the "Brotherhood of Crappy Basements" which was fun.
Following is my layout which I began when my Daughter told me to get the trains out for the Grandchildren. We put it up on a 4X8 plywood board, like many Christmas' before. The difference this time is my wife and I never put it away. We cleaned the basement out and quickly began enlarging. I have maximized my space 300 sq. ft. of table top 18' X 20' of floor space. The track layout is engaging with long runs and many sidings. Now I want to really learn how to model scenes.
This is the West side which is a large horse shoe.
This is the East side which is a large L attached to the South side of the horse shoe.
