A photo I took back in June of 2013 when Detroit & Lima Northern RY #7 was on its third evening of test runs after its restoration to operation at Greenfield Village.  Prior to that year it had not run since the late 1920's when it was put on static display in Henry Ford's "Edison Institute" museum.

This photo was of the same locomotive and taken in November, 1921 when it was pulling a publicity train on Ford's newly renovated Detroit Toledo & Ironton.  #7 was the first locomotive put through the shops and updated to Ford's new and modern standards.  I purchased this photo several years ago on eBay.  It was a news photo that still had all the editors marks on it from when it was published.  I found it somewhat interesting that the smoke was blowing in the same direction relative to the locomotive and the rods were in the same position in both photos taken nearly 92 years apart.

Judging by the date Bob claims this was taken, this is more than likely not the 2101. These were taken in 1988; the 2101 hadn’t steamed for a decade at that point. With that being said, sister locomotive no. 2100 was also owned by Ross Rowland used as a parts engine for the 2101 during the American Freedom Train and Chessie Steam Special. After 2101’s incident, the 2100 was stored in this roundhouse: the former Western Maryland Hagerstown Roundhouse,

Therefore, I’m pretty sure this is Reading no. 2100’s first steam up since 1964. Coincidentally, the 2100 is currently under restoration in another roundhouse that once belonged to another CSX ancestor: the Baltimore and Ohio. This scene could be recreated in the very near future!

A bit late to the game but here are three of mine. The first a favorite of mine from when 765 was in Michigan on 1225's route while 1225 was down for a rebuild (2011 or 2012?) Taken during its turn around maneuvers in Alma.

Here is 464 at The Huckleberry Railroad around 2012 as well.

Finally, IRM's 1630 shortly after returning to service in 2014.

First two are film with a Nikon FM2. No filter here!  Last is with my Panasonic DMC LX7 which I was still learning at that point.

Doing this as made me realize I haven't done much photography and train chasing since then. Might have to do some more of that soon.
