Replies sorted oldest to newest

Sounded and acted like the train went into "emergency" and dumped its air. This could have been for a variety of reasons, among them:

 

* One of the cars has a defective brake valve. (A "dynamiter".)

 

* Accidental movement of the train brake handle into the "Emergency" setting.

 

It took a while to get going again because the Engineer had to "recover" his air and recharge the train line.

I believe when she was there in 2009 she still had a link and pin coupler on her tender with no air brakes.  She has since been upgraded to a normal coupler and has air brakes installed so she can pull trains.   
 
Like I said I hope I have the opportunity to ride behind her in Owosso or at least photographer her pulling a train.
