The 2015D tender loco design clearly evolved from the iconic Stainz 2. The engine running board extensions and the rear cab opening and deckplate to facilitate fireman access to the tender coal are unique to its design. The motorized tender is connected to the engine via a polarity observed cable with red and black plugs. This engine came with a couple of stack variations including straight and diamond. The obvious omission here is a separate fireman figure for the deckplate. The 2015D is a powerful puller with the powered tender, and with the open rear cab on the engine, it looks better than simply putting a powered tender behind a 2010 or a 2020 where there is NO access to the cab for the fireman! Finally, the 2015D was issued as an American style loco, the 2017D. Respective photos below:
