Hello,

I am in the planning stages for the wiring of my DCS operated layout and I am looking to achieve the best DCS signal I can.

As per Barry's book, he recommends using lighted bumpers on the ends of sidings.

I am using Atlas track and plan on lighting the Atlas #6040 bumpers.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to what bulb I can/should use for this application?

Thanks,

Tim C.

Maybe on most common layouts, but a bulb can use 3-5 watts of power depending on the bulb. On a large layout with a lot of dead end sidings this could become an issue if the sidings are not switched off when an engine is idle. On such layouts an engineered filter could be a better option since it can draw less power and do the same job,at least in theory anyway.
