Hi Group

I ran into a problem with my LED upgrade with M-7 Lionel 6-30085. These cars use a spring load contact to the light control board. I want to remove the lighting control board and install a Gunrunerjohn special LED system. Has anyone this type of modification and what was your solution. I was think of using washers and then soldering wires from the washers to the Gunrunner special LED system. Or using insulated ring connectors and then solder the ends to the Gunrunerjohn special LED system.

Any comments, suggestion or photo would be greatly appreciated.

I like to use the springs if possible, makes it easier to disassemble the cars.  I always stretch the springs when I have the car apart to make sure I don't have to take the car apart again.

If they go direct to the light control board, you may be stuck with the idea of using a connector and losing the spring contacts.

I don't know what those look like inside, so it's hard to be specific.  I normally open up the first of a set of cars and decide how I'm going to do the wiring from there.

Thank you gentlemen for your reply. Quick question can I use the lighting control with the GRJ LED special? What I was thinking was to use one set of wire that went into the light bulb and wire them instead into the GRJ special LED system.   In the past I have take wiring off the MTH wire bus on the passenger cars and wire them directly in to the GRJ special LED system. Same principal just a different system wiring system. Would that work or I missing something?
