So from my research it seems that Lion Chief boards of the same type (2.0 to 2.0, etc) can be swapped for eachother. I have a 4-4-0 General w/Bluetooth from the Budwieser Set, and I'm looking to turn into a Walt Disney World locomotive for my kids using the WDW Sounds from this set, also with a 4-4-0 General w/Bluetooth.

From my research it appears I can just buy the WDW PCB board from the Lionel Support site, swap out the boards, and then be able to control the engine with Bluetooth with the Disney World sounds, right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I ruin a perfectly fine locomotive.

Thanks!

I believe the Bud remote won't work anymore though. If you have a Universal Remote or just use the LC app you should be fine.

On the app when you scan for the engine the picture of the Disney loco will come up.

In your case the swap shouldn't be a problem because both locos are 4-4-0 'General' types.  Are these "regular" LionChief, or LC Plus??

LionChief Plus and 2.0 include tach-based speed control.  If the locos are different types, the speed and throttle response could be erratic because the gear ratio of the receiving loco (taking into account its driving wheel diameter) might be different than the donor's, i.e., what was programmed in the board that you're installing.  FWIW.
