I use TMCC Cab 1.  I bought a Lionel 2132100 Baby K4 #3750 from the LC Plus 2.0 line, used.  It came having Engine ID No. 1.  Sold to me in 2021.  It runs, sounds, everything fine, using Engine ID #1.

I just can't change the ID number like I would like to.   I have tried everything I could come up with to change the engine no., without any success.  I have done the full factory reset (described in the Owner's Manual):

- TMCC Base unit and power off.

- Set Run/Program switch on engine to Program.  Place engine, connected to the tender on the track.

-Turn on base unit then

-Turn on track power.

- press "Eng". then  "ID no."  then "Set", followed by:

- "AUX 0" holding the 0 down.  It does not "chirp" or make any sound like it is supposed to.

I tried the full procedure several times,  using both road numbers separately,  "1" and the road number "50".

It still only responds to commands as Engine #1.

Hmmm?

My guess is the PGM/RUN switch is probably damaged, it's not uncommon for those switches to get pushed up and lose the ability to make a connection.  Many times all that's required is to fold the ears on the back of the switch back tight to restore function.  If it's too far gone, then a replacement is warranted, they're a dirt common switch that has been used by Lionel for 25-30 years at least.

If doing a full reset it might be resetting to ENG 1. I now the LCP3 will reset to 1 not sure on the LCP2.

I would just try setting a new ID without holding down 0. If it’s still a problem then like John said could be a issue with the switch or wiring

The LC+ 2.0 engine will not change it's TMCC ID without specifically switching to PGM mode.

What kind of "reset" are you using to get an LCP3 engine to set it's TMCC ID to 1, the only way I know is again, the PGM/RUN switch.

This manual states that after a reset of holding down “0” it resets the ID to 1. Wasn’t sure if this was shared with the LCP2 and they naturally forgot to put it in the manual

You missed the part where you have to switch to PGM mode!

I think it is the Base 3 Data Base, not the Engine!  I had a similar problem.  I had to remove the “ Programmed # from the BASE3 “Roster” with my CAB2, then rein put it with the CAB2 .    Worked like a charm !

I'm SORRY, I should have read more fully & carefully !!

I thought it was in conjunctio with the BASE3,  and it wasn't.  Excuse the "RING"!
