Anybody have a Lion Chief Plus GP-38? If so, how do you like it?

I have a handful of Lion Chief + motive power (steam and diesel) and am a fan. The new catalog has 4-5 GP-38s, all with Bluetooth. Am thinking about ordering one of these. Would be my first loco with Bluetooth.

Thanks for any input.

I have a BNSF. GP20 & WESTERN PACIFIC GP7, both are smooth, strong smoke a lot & great sounds.  The WP is also Bluetooth which is a great perk.  I also like the semi scale size. 14" metal frame, trucks and gand rail.  Well worth the $$$.20180207_194742

Lionel Lionchief is defiantly  Big bang for the buck.  Hope that helps.

I agree.  My two GP 38's have been running for over a year without issue.

These two guys are easily pulling between 14 and 18 car consists.  No bluetooth.  Have never used it, so I have no opinion.  I use the universal remote to control 3 trains on these 2 tracks on my upper level.  I'm using a Z4000 to power both tracks.  Thought I would need to run a power drop through 3 rooms of trains and ceiling, but they run perfectly on one drop each.

Can't agree more about bang for your buck.  IMO, the LCP's are a big winner.

Thank you, Jerry. Nice looking diesels.

I’m actually thinking about ordering the NS First Responders GP 38. None of the other road names particularly appealed to me and I really like black/white/red/gold color scheme. Very sharp. Will run it with some of the other First Responder rolling stock offered by Lionel.
