Mine shorts going through O72 and O48 switches but runs fine on track that has no switches. Are the other engines that run fine also LionChief engines? Lionel has indicated to me that the wheels on the GP38 are wider than the Legacy engines I have and that causes the switch problem. I also noticed that the wheels on the GP38 LionChief are magnetized. Is it possible you have picked up a small piece of steel?
Thanks I will check to see if there is steel there. My other engines that I tried are all lionchief engines and work fine. As soon as you give power to the engine it seems to short out right away.
