I recently purchased a LionChief Plus GP-38 with Bluetooth to run on my conventional layout. It is an amazing piece of gear and I love it. The difference that modern technology makes in how the trains run is remarkable. Smooth, steady and slow speeds are much more realistic.

Here is my question. In the picture, you see this GP-38 pulling a 35 car consist up a 3.5% grade, which it does without any objection.  These are all MPC cars so roll easily. For a prototypical train of this length, I would guess that there would be two or more engines at the front. So, is it possible to get a dummy unit to match? I have not seen one advertised. Alternatively, are the LionChief powered units able to be lashed together? Using two would seem to make life easier on the gear as well as look more realistic.

 Your thoughts welcome. Thanks!

Just another engine identical to what you already have is what you need. One remote will work both engines.  Think by sku they mean model#.

Ah, got it. Thanks. That is really cool. For someone just getting back into it, the LC+ system is very affordable and easy to use.

Do you happen to know if it is possible to run one unit fwd and one in reverse in the same direction?

You would have to reverse the leads to the motors on one of the units.  You can do that by swapping the leads on each motor which would require soldering, or switching the leads at the control board which involves a Molex plug.  Of course by  doing that,  you will have one unit that always runs the opposite what the remote control dial is showing.
