this is interesting; I recently removed the smoke resistor from this engine and what came out was a ceramic 30 ohm. I replaced it with a wire wound 27 ohm it was some improvement and today looking at the parts drawing for the same engine two resistors are listed; the ceramic 30 ohm and a wire wound 18 ohm 3 watt I know the 18 ohm will work the transformer more I am wondering if any of you have done this and what were the results. input greatly appreciated!
