I posted this in the structure and building section but think I will get a answer in the tin plate section🤔
I have a standard gauge Lionel 124 station that I am trying to bring back to life. I picked up some repro chimney’s for the station. My question is with the tabs to lock the chimney to the roof. Is it best to twist the tabs or to bend them towards the center of the chimney or to bend the away from the chimney? I do a lot of tinplate restoration and got in the habit of twisting the tabs on the cars when I am working on them. Would like to know what is the best for the chimneys to lock them in so there is no play?😊
