I have a Lionel 14065 Nuclear Reactor that had a "meltdown", no pun intended. The solenoid coil shorted-out and needs to be replaced. I have tried contacting Lionel Support, but they do not have any schematics or parts list available anymore, other than a few decorative items. Can anyone assist me in replacing the bad solenoid coil with the correct one? Thank you for your attention and replies.

I just checked my instruction manual and it has no parts or schematic shown
I dont know why lionel doesnt leave the parts list up for reference.
Could you send a photo of the offending part? We had a reactor donated as a display item, I have no idea what is wrong with it, but hopefully I can test the solenoid when I know what it looks like, and get back to you.

Thank you for your information. I shall take a photo and send it to you for reference. BTW, would you be able to send me a photo of your reactor as well?
Lionel has the parts break down for the second run of the reactor.
As long as the shell is ok, you could buy the part from the second edition and just swap out the solenoid. Or paint the new part to better blend in the original release.
Are you talking about the motor and gears or the solenoid for the dump chute?
I have this accessory, and had an issue with the original motor and gear box assembly. I ordered a new one from Lionel, and the one they sent me new, actually smoked and caught fire. Had to get another replacement from Lionel and now it works fine, but still can be finicky.
