We took the Polar Express set down and before we packed up the track I decided to run my Western Pacific F3 AA a few days. It's a TMCC set that I haven't run in a year. This was also the first time I had run it in conventional mode. Once on the track there were a few things that just didn't seem right.
- The smoke switch is set to "No Smoke" but I can still hear at least one of the fan motors humming. (Side note - The "Smoke" "No Smoke" position on the engine are opposite the diagram in the manual.)
- When the engine was running it was smoking. When it was stopped in the neutral position I could hear the fan motor pulse like it was being turned on and off.
- Lastly the headlights are not syncing forward to reverse. If I remember correctly when moving forward the rear Mars light would shut off and when in reverse the front Mars light would shut off.
It's a small loop, clean track, running with a CW-80 and then switched to a Z-1000 with the same results.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
