Still working on my locomotive inventory.  I have a 1807WS set with the box but I have too many cars to fit in the box.  I evidently added to this back then and I can't find anything on it.  Can anyone tell me which cars go with it.  It starts with the 2037 Steamer and 6026W tender I hope.

As always, thank you in advance.

The number 1807WS is not listed in Greenberg's guide.

I have found a set from 1957 with the 2037 & the 6026W tender but the number for the set is 1583WS. It has numbers; 2037, 6026W, 6482, 6112, 6646, 6121, 6476, 6017.

A few other numbers for the set 1603WS, 1607WS, 1621WS, 1625WS, 1635WS, and 1639WS. From what I am seeing in Greenberg's guide this is an 027 set.

If you could list the numbers for all the freight cars you have it would help to identify the set.

Tommy's Train you nailed it right down to the transformer box (no transformer though).  I had to get within inches of that box to see that it was a six instead of an 8 and those cars are all with it plus 5 more that don't belong there.  Do you know if there is supposed to be room in there for tracks?  Trying to fill the box correctly is a bit of a challenge.  To those of you who read my posts and are asking why I make so many stupid mistakes, I have cataracts that they won't remove until next year, sometimes I have to use a big magnifying glass.

Thanks again and to you also Lee.

You have established the set is 1607WS, so the complete contents of the set are:

2037 loco; 6026W; 6464-425 New Haven; 6660 Boom crane car; 6112-85 canister car; 6818 Flatcar with transformer; 6465 Gulf double dome; 6119-100 work caboose (red cab, grey toolchest; (8) eight 1013 curved track; (5) five 1018 straight track; (1) 6029 uncoupling section; 1044 90 watt transformer; CTC lockon; tube of lubricant; Instructions.  *****Rarity of 5, value in excellent condition $325****

The set is called "Trouble Shooter Work Set" originally sold for $59.99 retail.

It's almost complete now, found the transformer in the wrong box, have the track but not sure that it's what came in the box originally, the instructions are in the box and it is stamped most likely by the dealer at $37.95 on the box front.  The only thing I don't have is the lubricant, I do have some partial tubes of postwar Lionel grease and some oil bottles with the wire dropper attached to the cap.

Tommy, can you tell me the name of the sets book and if they are still available.  I have another month or so of work inventorying down here and I think that would save me a lot of time.  Only interested in the postwar sets.

Thanks again to all,

I can relate to the cataracts, supposed to be able to get mine fixed this spring. They have been putting me off for a couple of years. I can now barely see out of my right eye. Good luck with yours, maybe they will have mercy and let you get them fixed sooner?
