I’m building a 2046 engine with magnatraction does anyone know if all the gears should be NON magnetic and do all the wheels on the gear side have a small brass washer Thanks

Fin here is a photo of the 2046, Thrust washer part# 2035-167 gear side. Hope this helps. Mark

The gears need to be non magnetic in the 2035 parts list. There are identical gears that are stamped in steel in the 1668 family that should not be used as they act like a brake from the magnetic field. A 2056 locomotive can use either with no effect on performance.
Thank you guys Im having a **** a time trying to get this thing to run faster and I think the gears are what’s holding it back a little bit. I know the intermediate gear 2034-143 is metal because my magnet sticks to it I have new brushes new e unit clean commutator do you think that the gears if all of them are metal can be slowing it down
