I think the motor frame side plate profile is the same for both the 2046 motor and say a 675 or 224 motor, just the later one is AL frame with sintered wheels and magnatraction while the earlier motors are blackened steel sides with nickel rimed Baldwin disc wheels. For the 2046, one end is held by a screw from the top of the boiler and the other end is set up with a metal bracket. You need to check that mounting and determine if you can simply swap the bracket from one motor to the other. It may be very simple. A check of both motors will tell you quickly. The only problem might be that you may have to drill a hole to mount the E unit bracket too.
