At a recent train show I picked up an ABA set of 2343s and a 2343C b unit. They were in pretty bad shape to say the least. I got some issues in repairing them because these are my first F units: 1.I have no idea how to deal with corrosion from the horn battery. 2. The B unit is covered with what feels like wax of some kind covering the plastic shell, and I was wondering how to get it off without hurting the paint or decals. 3. The last issue they got is that the gear that is on the armature shaft of the front motor is no longer attached to the shaft, the shaft spins inside the hole in the gear. I am unclear on how to take the gear off, put it back on and make it stay on. I already looked up the service manual pages and am unclear on the process it lays out to fix the gears. Thanks!
