I own many F3 engines but only one hot at the roller pick up. Lots of sparking, but runs well.

Hot rollers indicate excessive current being drawn through them.
First, clean the rollers (including the pin they roll on) and also the wheels with Naphtha.
Make sure all the wiring inside the engine is in good shape. Replace all bad wiring.
Clean the motor armatures, brushplates, brushes and springs with the Naphtha.
Lubricate the motor bearings, the axle bearings and the gearing.

The other thing that hot rollers indicate is poor conductivity from the axle to the roller. Any resistance will drop voltage and that will generate heat.
I use Deoxit-D5 on rollers to improve the continuity, that frequently solves the issue of hot rollers.
Loose, or weak spring pressure on the pick up arms can also cause the rollers to heat up....dirt, and carbon can build up on the pin the spring surrounds, causing poor conductivity as mentioned above.....follow the path, from roller to wire, inspecting all components as you move along....clean or replace suspect components...

Had this problem on my F3, cleaned everything up and finally resolved it by replacing the rollers including the roller arms with new ones. Bill Makel
If they're really new, they tend not to have corroded axles, the biggest issue in hot rollers.
Thanks for the reply. Will do.
