I recently learned that Lionel made different versions of the 313 Bascule Bridge. Apparently in the early 2000s the bridges were made in China and suffer from a faulty circuit board. There seem to be two different model numbers for these bridges. 6-12948 and 6-22972. Which ones are the early releases ?

Yikes, I have one planned for installation. Looking forward to seeing responses in Dan's thread.
The 12948 is the early one in the traditional green and silver scheme. I have one installed on my layout and it operates flawlessly. The 22972 one is the black painted one. If the board was faulty, its news to me as mine has never gave me a problem. I would love to hook signals up to it but never worked out the logic with the power routing from the relay board in the bridge-side shed. Now the Backshop on the other hand....biggest dissapointment. I think I'm on my third board, (operating and sound) and still its unreliable as all get out.
I have the 1997 Heritage Green & Silver version. I use it almost every day.

@jim, not to hijack the thread, but I did a lobotomy on my backdrop and now run it with a garage door opener set. I think the info is already on a thread a few years ago
Interesting. I was ready to pull the trigger on the early version and had asked the seller some questions about it. His response was that he had meant to pull the listing as he felt the early bridges with the Chinese circuit board were poorly made.
