I have a 318E that I bought with only one headlight casting. The other end is missing the casting and the bracket that holds the casting and the insulated light bulb terminal. Here are the parts I need. I tried locating a parts diagram for the engine online, but I can't find any. Does anyone know what these part numbers are? I think I can find where to buy them once I know the part numbers. Also, what bulb size does this casting take? All of the bulbs I have are to short and bottom out in the socket. Thank you in advance.

I've purchased a few of those through Hennings...
Mark in Oregon
According to information contained in Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Prewar Parts and Instruction Sheets on DVD that I have ( 1937 replacement parts listing for electric type locomotives )....says
Headlight Contact Support part number is NH-6
Headlight Hood part number is NH-11
These are the only part numbers I could find with reference to headlights
Hope this is helpful

Do the bulbs contact the fiber contact board when board is inserted. Most bulbs work.
Contact Hennings and get the socket, fiber board, and bulb at the same time so that they all will fit
Thanks. This is the one I found on henning's ebay site. The description says
"NH-11 Lionel Diecast Headlight w/Bulb and Contact, Standard Gauge
This is the original style die-cast replacement headlight casting, complete w/mounting screw, bulb, and 'T' electrical connector. It fits the 'later' Lionel standard gauge electric locos, such as #8, 9, 10, 318, 380, 402 & 408"
Does anyone know what they mean by "later"? I can't tell if it has a bracket to support the "T" contact or if that is even needed with there part. It's definitely not a direct match to what I have now. Any thoughts on if this would work?

That’s the correct lamp for your 318. The bracket is separate , if isn’t still with your 318 you will need that also. I don’t have a part # handy but Hennings should have that also .

Bracket is NH-6 called a Headlight contact support. Hope this helps.

OK. I thought the hennings part would be complete. They do sell the NH6 on their website, but wasn't sure it would fit this contact design since the contacts on my headlight have a thinner profile. These are much fatter if you compare my original post photo. The photo below is what Henning's sells as NH-6. I''ll have to call them and find out if these brackets fit the headlights they are selling. I'm surprised that they don't sell everything as one package since these are only $1.00 for two brackets!
