Greetings! I have a totally burned wire off my pickup. I've dismantled the motor but still can't get to the base of the wire. My question is; Do the side plates come off and how? Many thanks! Patrick

I use a Pair of ST350-FST Frame Spreader Tools from the Train Tender and Craftsman 4735 pliers to access the fiber board.
Greetings! Thank you for your assistance! If this method will pop the lugs holding the frames together, how did you reattach them? My1956 postwar 520 doesn't have a fiber board, which I'm sure you are aware of. Many thanks! Patrick
The fiber collector plate, 2034-126, pictured below, is liberated by using the FST (and sometimes the pliers for an added advantage) to flex the frames out so that the tabs on the board are free from the slots in the frame as pictured int he previous post. This SHOULD not "pop" the frames from the retaining lugs/rivets.
Greetings sir! I understand now. I will give it a try. Many thanks! Patrick
